The purpose of this site is to train teachers to create an Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) lesson plan, record a video to deliver the lesson, then upload it to Edpuzzle.com (an online free video-hosting platform). Edpuzzle is a helpful tool for helping students to engage with EDI video lessons, because the quiz feature enables embedded quizzes within the video itself. Checking for Understanding (CFU) questions will allow the teachers to gather meaningful formative assessment data throughout the lesson as students watch.

More about E.D.I.
Fostering and improving students' learning strategies is essential for all students in order to learn successfully. Teachers need to have a clear roadmap of their lesson plan beforehand, the sequence of Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) teaching activities: Learning Objective, Activation of prior Knowledge, Concept Development, Skill Developments, why is the topic Relevant to the students, and Closure. Explicit Direct Instruction is where teachers use explicit teaching techniques to teach a specific skill to their students. In the Distance Learning Model (DLM), teaching requires students to possess an increased degree of autonomy and show initiative in learning processes, inspecting learning materials, and understanding contents. DLM had made delivering a powerful lesson more difficult for at-risk, low-achieving students, and meaningful formative assessment almost nonexistent.
